What a remap can do

Feel the difference every time you drive

  • More performance

Stronger acceleration through the gears, especially on turbocharged engines.

  • Increased torque

More pulling power in the mid-range, where you drive most of the time.

  • Sharper throttle

A more direct response when you press the pedal, without being snatchy.

  • Smoother delivery

Power that builds evenly, with less need to change down to overtake.

  • Potential efficiency

Some vehicles become more economical when driven gently. It depends on you.

Results depend on the vehicle, its condition and how it’s driven. No specific gain is guaranteed.

Why JF Remapping

Honest advice before anything is changed

Not every vehicle benefits equally from a remap, and some shouldn’t be remapped until a fault is fixed. You’ll be told which applies to yours.

About JF Remapping
  • Straight answers

If a remap isn’t worthwhile for your vehicle, you’ll hear that up front rather than after you’ve paid.

  • Your vehicle checked first

Condition and existing faults are discussed before any work, because a remap won’t fix a problem — it can make one worse.

  • Original software kept

Your vehicle’s factory software is read and saved before anything is written, so it can be restored later.

  • A clear quote

You’ll know the price before anything is booked. No obligation, no pressure.

Common questions

Before you book

Will remapping affect my warranty?

It can. A manufacturer may decline a warranty claim on parts it believes were affected by the modification. If your vehicle is still under warranty, check your terms before booking.

Do I need to tell my insurer?

Yes. A remap is a modification and should be declared. Not declaring it could invalidate your cover.

Can remapping improve fuel economy?

It can on some vehicles, particularly diesels driven steadily, but it depends heavily on how you drive. Nobody can honestly promise a fixed saving.

How long does it take?

Many remaps take an hour or two, but it depends on the vehicle. You’ll be given an idea of timing when you get your quote.
